The Pink Tour

Can I participate in the Pink Tour even if the start date of the event has already passed?
You can register for the Pink Tour up until the last day of the challenge on July 5.

How long is this year’s Pink Tour?
50 days. It starts May 17 and ends July 5.

How much is the registration fee?
Whether you register individually or as a team, the registration fee is $35 per participant.

I am registered for the Pink Tour. How can I share my progress?
You can use the “Share” button under your Participant Profile to share on Facebook. Don’t hesitate to comment on your experience by adding photos to your message so that your supporters can follow your progress in achieving your kilometre and donation goals. Also post on your social networks with the #pinktour hashtag.

Why share my progress on social networks?
It always helps to share your commitment. Moreover, the more you share, the more people will be aware of the cause, and will be inclined to encourage you and participate in your fundraising.

How many kilometres do I have to do?
You set your own goal. For example, if you think you can do 10 kilometres a week, your goal might be 70 km. Your goal depends on your endurance level and your reality. The goal is to move, at your own pace and in your own way!

What am I committing to by registering?
When you register, you commit to moving and collecting a suggested minimum of $100 in donations.

Registration

If members of my family want to participate, should we register individually or form a team?
As a team! Start by naming your team. The first member of your family will then sign up as the team leader, although not everything rests on his or her shoulders. Once he or she has signed up, the rest of the members can register in turn by selecting your team name when they join. There is no limit to the number of members on a team.

What happens once I’m registered?
Watch your e-mail for a calendar of events to encourage you to get moving and collect donations. You will also receive a chart to see how many kilometres your activities are equivalent to.

You can start now sharing your pledges with your network, via social networks, by e-mail or by phone. Talk about your commitment and why you are participating in the Pink Tour. Don't forget to regularly update your kilometres completed on your Participant Centre.

Can I register several members of my team with my e-mail address?
Unfortunately it is not possible to use the same e-mail address more than once to register.

Is the kilometres goal I entered when I registered my personal target or the team’s target?
When you register, the kilometres target you enter is your personal target. This will automatically be added to the targets of the rest of your team.

Is the fundraising goal I entered when I registered my personal target or the team’s target?
When you register, the fundraising target you enter is your personal target. This will automatically be added to the targets of the rest of your team.

Collecting donations

Where does the money raised go?
Donations will be used to fund free support services for people affected by breast cancer, such as the Virtual Clinic, a financial assistance program and a psychosocial support service.

Are donors entitled to tax receipts?
All donations over $25 are eligible for a tax receipt.

I have never collected donations; where do I start?

  1. Set ambitious donation collection and kilometre targets.
  2. Make sure your participant page is personalized (pictures of you doing a sport or activity and a story explaining why you are committed to the cause).
  3. Communicate your commitment to the cause within your network, e.g., in a Facebook post with a link to your participant page, explaining why this commitment is a challenge for you and why you care about the cause.
  4. Repeat the experience in a direct message or e-mail.
